I'm looking to see if I am the only one that gets little value out of SolarWinds Technical support, and what the expected behavior should be for HA.
Here is the description of my issue I opened a case with
I opened a couple of cases previously about my HA pools being unhealthy. My APE pool turned healthy on its own. The Main Pool returned to healthy after deleting the RabbitMQ DB and having it build again.
Today we tested the HA by disconnecting the NICs on the active nodes and waited for the standby nodes to become active. It never happened. I tried to start the services manually on the standby nodes and all of the services wouldn't start. The website was also down and never came up.
Please review the diagnostic files I'm uploading and let me know why this DR test failed? The diagnostic files were taken after attaching the NICs again on the active nodes.
When creating the diagnostics file there were a few warnings which I will try the resolutions for as well (e.g. restarting the Module Engine service.)
Two questions.
1. What is the first response you would expect to get back from Technical support?
2. Having disconnected the NICs on the active nodes, I should expect the standby nodes to realize the active node is down and change to the active node, correct?
(BTW, the first response I got from Technical support was " My Name is Peter... Can you please send me a screenshot of the issue/error that you encounter?") From my description that isn't the first response I would expect.
