Microsoft 365 Apps updates through Patch Manager

We recently moved to Microsoft (Office) 365 Apps and learned updates cannot be done just with WSUS.  Besides going with SCCM and WSUS, can Patch Manager accomplish 365 updates if want control of updates?

  • To a degree yes. I have done this but then moved on to MECM when we got it deployed. You can:

    • Deploy via patch manager and the Office Deployment Tool
    • Use the internet as a source or a network share.
    • Thereafter, you can trigger updates via a 'dummy' custom patch that runs a script
