Adobe CC Updates

Is it possible to release Adobe Creative Cloud packages through Solar Winds Patch Manager? I have been asked by my manager to look into it and see if we can start to implement Creative Cloud into my team's patching schedule, I'm aware that Adobe have their own tool for admins to create packages but would it be possible to pull these through as custom packages in Patch Manager? I'm fairly new to using this system so apologies if it's a silly question! I know that Adobe mention using SCCM/InTune which we also have but I'd like to explore the Patch Manager route first.

  • The short answer is that it comes down to the method of deployment for that software.

If it is an .EXE or .MSI that is executed on a Windows machine, and your workstations/servers are WSUS clients, then yes you can build a custom package in Patch Manager for that .EXE or .MSI, and then Publish that 3rd party package that you made into your WSUS server (which will essentially turn it into a Windows update) ... and  then the machines can be made to pull the update from WSUS and install it.
