Announcing Network Topology Mapper 2.4 is Now Generally Available
We would like to announce the general availability of Network Topology Mapper version 2.4.
This release contains following new features and improvements
-
Support for SQLite
In NTM 2.4, the SQL Compact database is migrated to SQLite. -
Security enhancements
Only Windows Administrators or users with administrative privileges can use NTM.
Before you upgrade
- NTM 2.4 changes the database for storing your maps. Changing the supported database requires migrating existing maps from Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition to SQLite.
Only maps stored in the default location (C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Network Topology Mapper\UserMaps) will be migrated automatically during the upgrade. Maps stored outside of this folder are not migrated and cannot be opened in NTM after the upgrade. - If you find out that you have maps in a non-default folder after you have completed the upgrade to NTM 2.4, paste them to the maps folder and re-run the installation file.
- Direct upgrades to NTM 2.4 are only supported from NTM 2.3. If you are upgrading from a version earlier than NTM 2.3., upgrade to NTM 2.3 first, and then upgrade to NTM 2.4.
