Multiple IP Address polling support for a single node

With HCO going to a node based licensing, it would be even more advantageous today if it corelated all of the IPs on a node (like in Orion.NodeIPAddresses) to determine unique nodes for licensing purposes instead of charging you a node license for each IP you need to poll. It would seem that a pretty simple query could be used to find a more accurate node count for licensing purposes.

Actually, I'm about to run into a problem with this as well. Our BackUpNetwork and NetBackup solution are directly connected, therefore I would need to enter a system to make sure the procedure was operating. If you still have the issue click here!

Absolutely this is needed!

Definitely need the ability to associate multiple IPs with a node, even if they aren't all polled for uptime. The lack of this ability significantly affects our ability to use automated device discovery, since each SVI (sometimes multiple IPs and HSRP IP per SVI) comes up as separate node. Kind of hard to understand how this hasn't been addressed after 10+ years of asking by so many people.

ugh - I am torn on this one. Many of the IP's are detected by NPM (usually all), and interface alerts can accomodate what happens when one of those IP's goes thwack in the night. Load balanced, virtual IP's get interesting - as do cluster ip's, I dont see a simple method around monitoring those. Usually full monitoring on the clustered, and icmp on each node, with some magic SAM templates or NPM custom node pollers to detect status changes inside the cluster. I dont think this has a simple answer, I skimmed many of the older posts, and noticed several different vendors and technologies mentioned. SAM and NPM can deal with those, but it will take some time to develop or import those templates. Thwack is a great resource for that.
