Manage Nodes: Export Custom Properties Node List does not list selected Nodes but entire nodes list.

I've had the same result as the export CP page seems to be a newer backend / view type I'm not sure its holding the node selection on that switch

The newer GUI versions are, IMO, just plain horrible to work with. The fact that you can no longer select a Custom Property as a group (we heavily use CPs for client site names), just makes it even worse.

Do what I do. Use the original. In the top right hand corner of the new Manage CPs page, click the three dots and then 'switch to legacy'.

I'd then log a ticket with support or reach out to your CSM. Or even both.

I live in the Legacy View and agree the newer GUI was not worth the man hours invested to created it.

Well here is the reply from the tech support desk :

 Please follow the below resolution steps,   Resolution The issue is tentatively planned to be fixed in SolarWinds Platform 2024.4 and above To workaround the problem, perform the following steps: Login to SolarWinds Platform Navigate to  Settings  >  Manage   Nodes From the list, select the checkbox for nodes to export Click  More Actions  >  Export Custom Property Values In the top of the menu, click  Edit From the list, select the checkbox for the nodes to export Click  Select   nodes From the list, click the checkbox for the custom properties to export Click  Export .

So you have to pick your selection twice to get a detailed Export in excel.. UGH... 

I'm confused about your workflow, I think this just works






You can also just export the lot and filter off what you need based on the properties, would usually do that. Does this not work for you?

adam.beedell  When updated Firmware removes an existing function that has been around for years, then adds more steps to a simple task to make it less user friendly and does not produce the desired results like it used to, well you might as well rename the company to Microsoft.   Why on earth would I want to select nodes from a list of thousands when I took the time to either use groups, custom properties or status etc. to select a desired list nodes to produce a desired exporte list. I should not have to select them twice.     

I only selected once there and could use CPs, so still a bit confused

Groups is hard though and should be made easier
