According to the information presented when configuring an SMTP relay credential Solarwinds IpMonitor only currently supports Digest, NTLM and Clear Text authentication for SMTP. Most modern SMTP relays including Office 365 require TLS. In order to configure an SMTP relay via Office 365, an exception must be created for the account being used to allow clear text authentication which is obviously not ideal.
