EOC 1.6 and 2.0 on same server?

I have been using EOC 1.6 for years.  I am very pleased to see that it is finally getting some love.  That said, I read that 1.6 and 2.0 can be run in tandem but that a new server would be needed.  Is that actually the case?  If so, why?  I would much rather install them on the same server so that when I am ready to cut over to 2.0, I would just need to change the website bindings.  On a different server I would have to either do an IP/name swap or multiple DNS record changes for the SSL certs.

Detroiter - Correct - EOC 2.0 cannot be installed and ran from the same server in which you are running versions prior to 2.0.  This is due to collision of job engines, differences in SWIS versions that were required, among other scenarios.  It unfortunately is not possible.
