Announcing Engineer's Toolset 2025.1 is Now Generally Available

We would like to announce the general availability of Engineer's Toolset version 2025.1.
This release contains following new features and improvements

ETS for the web 2025.1

  • New features and improvements
    Engineer's Toolset 2025.1 includes the new features in version 2025.1 of the SolarWinds Platform. For more information, see the SolarWinds Platform 2025.1 Release Notes.

  • Fixes
    When upgrading ETS, the Configuration Wizard no longer fails due to a duplicate DF_Accounts_ToolsetIntegration constraint.
    The SolarWinds Diagnostic tool no longer continuously increases the size of the Toolset_BusinessLayerPlugin_tracelog.svclog file. The large file could consume all disk space and also affect performance.

ETS for the Desktop 2025.1

  • New features and improvements
    Solar Putty can be launched through the ETS Launchpad in version 2025.1 Use the Solar Putty tool to professionally manage remote user sessions. See Solar Putty..

  • Fixes
    The Advance Subnet Calculator .exe works as expected.
    The Advance Subnet Calculator GUI is the same on the Start menu, Launchpad, and workspace studio.
    The Port Scanner maximize option is available in all resolutions.
    The credential message for Advance CPU load is now visible.
    Interfaces can be found as expected after updating ETS.
    Workspace Studio SNMPv3 credentials are saving properly.
    Deprecated tools have been removed from ETS.

  • I installed this version to get the fix for the Workspace SNMPv3 credential save issue and it works.  However, i was a bit surprised that the authentication only supported MD5 and SHA-1 and not the same authentication that HCO/NPM support.  Our firewall team moved to SHA256 for their Cisco ASA and Checkpoint devices and don't want to support a lesser authentication.
