Database Performance Analyzer (DPA) 2024.4 Is Now Available

DPA 2024.4 Release

We’re proud to announce the availability of SolarWinds® Database Performance Analyzer (DPA) 2024.4 software. You can download the latest version of DPA from your customer portal and the SolarWinds website.

  • Flexible Database Licensing: We’ve made a change in how we license our self-hosted database offerings. Now, with a single self-hosted license, you can use either DPA or SQL Sentry, depending on what best fits your needs. If you’re monitoring Azure SQL Databases, we’ve also introduced a fractional cost license specifically for DBaaS environments, making it simple and cost-effective to include cloud databases. For more details, feel free to reach out to your account representative.
  • MySQL/Percona MySQL workload analysis is another key feature, which includes the much-loved and powerful DPA features for SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL (of execution plan collection), Index Advisors, and Table Tuning Advisors. A complete description of these features can be found here.
  • We’ve also improved our security posture around MySQL and now support caching_sha2_password authentication. This in tandem with the tuning advisors is targeted to really boost our MySQL audience.
  • Keeping security in mind, our customers have asked us to support the group Managed Service Account (gMSA) authentication for Windows–mission accomplished.
  • On the Oracle front, we now support CDBs as targets on Oracle’s multi-tenant architecture. This completes the full picture of an instance leveraging PDBs with broader alerting and visibility capabilities.

As I’m sure you noticed, we’ve been busy. Watch this product newsroom for more updates soon. Please reference the official release notes  for a complete listing of release content.
