Updating Device Name in DRE to reflect Computer Name (Host name) on a PC when its changed.

Same answer, no changes. Also this post is 4 years old, if changes were going to be made, it would of been done by now.

So great news, this is getting attention, and I am being told this will be resolved on the next product update.

“there was never the ability to sync the host name with the agent name. You are correct that the option to use the host name as the agent name is gone from the configuration template, but that doesn’t mean there was a change in behavior of the product. This is a feature request, but it seems the product team is open to implementing it. By “it”, I mean the ability to sync the  agent name with the host name. We can do it for the next PI, so although there is no workaround it is going to be fixed relatively quickly"

So, I ran this through my SolarWinds Account Manager and told him we were investigating other options for a remote assist solution. He asked me to hold off so he could talk to the development team and I just now got the response. I saw these posts and thought I would offer the answer I received and hopefully make some folks happy.

That is exactly what we are experiencing as well
