More than two administrator roles in “Users and Role Management”

Context:

  • As part of our user management, we execute some tasks outside of ARM using Powershell scripts
  • ARM only becomes aware of these changes after an AD scan
  • Therefore, every IT user must be able to perform an AD scan manually
  • According to the Support, a manual AD scan is only possible with a user of the administrator role. Users with a Data Owner role cannot perform an AD scan
  • Only two admin roles are provided in “Users and Role Management”
  • In our IT department, however, we have three levels of ARM users (admins, junior admins and supporters) and have therefore used the two administrator roles and one data owner role

Problem:

  • The IT users of the Data Owner role cannot perform an AD scan
  • This massively complicates our workflow as they always have to ask other colleagues to do so

Feature Request:

  • In “Users and Role management” there should be a third (fourth?, fifth?) administrator role.
