Support IBM Virtualization (LPar, VIO)

Wow, I am perplexed by this request. Monitoring an IBM ecosystem is complex. These are typically very mission critical and are typically managed by specialized people with specialized skill sets. A broad spectrum tool such as SWVM will likely never give you the detail and geek-ness that your AIX system administrators want. We use SW for service level monitoring and then jump quickly to the IBM tool sets when needed.

What IBM tool sets do you use to monitor your PowerVM environment?

I think some basic functionality in SRM would be nice, like knowing when there are pathing issues as well as allow mapping of Volumes to LUN's the way VMware Volumes can be mapped to LUN's if you own Virtualization Manager and SRM.  Obviously full detailed monitoring is going to be handled better by specialty tools, but some essential high level features like this would be nice to help identify issues and alert on them.
