Capture per HBA and per vmnic performance data

We use Fusion-io ioTurbine to improve storage performance. I would like to be able to capture performance of the vmhba used by Fusion-io to see show the IO offloaded to that HBA. Also, per vmnic statistics should be captured. I have looked at two competing products that were able to detect issues with receive packet drops that Virtualization Manager does not detect.

  • When troubleshooting performance problems with the HBA or NIC, what is the most important information for you to see? Can you give me any concrete use cases? For example, while troubleshooting X, I was able to take a look A, B, and C. It turns out they were affecting, Y which was slowing down X.
