NPM vs VMAN

Our Solarwinds NPM interface licenses are about to meet the subscribed 2000 interface license limit.
The current occupied interface licenses include the virtual infrastructure VM interfaces as well.

Now I would like to know that If we go for VMAN tool instead of upgrading the NPM, for managing/monitoring of virtual infrastructure separately and not through NPM.
would it be wise and what kind of additional information I can get through VMAN which was not possible through NPM?

    NPM ships with the integrated Virtual Infrastructure Monitor (VIM) feature which allows you to add your hosts and guests into NPM for monitoring, but each of these take up a license cost as the actual monitoring is still being done by NPM. 

    VMAN does offer any increased ability for monitoring, but instead opens up a wealth of tools for analysing your virtual environment, like capacity planning and Virtual recommendations based on best practices. You can see the difference between VMAN and VIM here:
