Not all Hostnames and IPs showing, only MAC address

2I have just installed UDT and can only see some IP Addresses and hostnames.  I can only see the IP addresses and hostnames on one vlan.  What do I need to do to get the IP addresses and hostnames to show up for devices on all the different vlans?  I am running UDT 2.0.0.  Yes I know that version is old, but our maintenance expired.

  • if you feel that these IP's and hostnames should be available by checking your arp tables then you might be running into a known bug in UDT 2. I believe it was 2.5.1 that resolved it ?

  • We do a little routing on some our switches, just one vlan.  The devices from that vlan are the ones showing the IP and hostname.  The arp tables for the switches that do routing only have arp entries for that one vlan.  We don't have any routers, instead we use a firewall.  I have added that device and it runs UDT jobs for both layer 2 and 3.  Its arp table has all the entries for the devices in udt where only the mac addresses appear.  Maybe I hit a bug in the older version?

  • If you see the entries in the switch mac and arp tables but not in UDT then you are seeing what I was.

I installed up to 2.5.1 hotfix 3 and they immediately showed up on the next L2/L3 polling.
