Periodically we go through multiple layers of audits as part of the industry we're in. During those audits we walk them through our monitoring systems and how we keep track of settings. Having a single place that shows how long each module and global settings are set to retain data within the Orion systems would save time (and also allow for quick remediation if we have to set some types of retention differently during intense churn cycles within fiscal year tasks.
tl:dr. Disparate locations for retention settings make 'single pane of glass' a useful and needed feature.
