Create a report for Syslog alerts?

I am a new to SolarWinds and trying to setup a report for syslog's coming into SolarWinds from Cisco switches.

The alerts are coming into SolarWinds, would like to know how to get these all collated into a report which will be sent daily with the alerts

I have tried to search for this but I wasn't able to find anything on how to do this.

Any help appreciated.

It would depend on which product you are using. Solarwinds has several that receive Syslog messages.

I believe it is Orion where i can make the reports from, but have no idea

What version of Solarwinds are you running? It should be at the very bottom of your main page.

This query might work for you. It will have more fields than you need but you can always delete the ones you don't want in the report.

SELECT TOP 1000 LogEntryID, LogEntryTypeID, LogEntryLevelID, NodeID, MessageSourceID, DateTime, MessageDateTime, Message, Level, LevelKey, DisplayName, Description, InstanceType, Uri, InstanceSiteId FROM Orion.OLM.LogEntry

If you have an older version of Solarwinds the Syslog info is located in a different spot. Here is another query you can try.

SELECT TOP 1000 MessageID, TOLOCAL (DateTime) as LocalTime, IPAddress, SysLogSeverity, Hostname, Message FROM Orion.SysLog
