Hi all, I am not shure if this is the proper place for this question, but I'll give it a try.

In these roaring times nothing is what it seems to be. Software in particular.

I would like to make use of the OrionSDK.msi 3.0 package, but I don't know if the source

GitLab is a enough reason to trust the software that is being released there.

Is there a possibility of a filehash added to the sources? or are there other means of making sure the software is genuine?

All of the repositories under https://github.com/solarwinds/ are owned by SolarWinds. Official releases of the Orion SDK can be found at github.com/.../releases. You can use PowerShell to calculate the SHA256 file hash for OrionSDK.msi:

Get-FileHash .\OrionSDK.msi | Format-List

For the v3.0.0.309-beta release, the hash is 1233F12965AAF3CEF43D5CD53C586A838B959E0C8B2D0482294C8509E064D1AA.

Hi Dan, thank you very much for the quick answer. I do know how to calculate the filehash, but not where to find the filehashes of the different releases of the OrionSDK - but can you tell me what the filehash is for the 3.0 release from 21 Dec 2020, or where can I find it?

The SHA256 hash for OrionSDK.msi from https://github.com/solarwinds/OrionSDK/releases/tag/v3.0 is:

F5748296C51290DF392C1628265C81BD34B95B5B54752AAD7654B33430F1B184

I don't believe this information is published anywhere at this point in time.
