Powershell Core - Compatibility

Know this has more than likely been discussed but is this not compatible with PS Core?? Please don't tell me under the covers this is still using Snapins Import-Module : Could not load type 'System.Management.Automation.PSSnapIn' from assembly 'System.Management.Automation, Version=6.1.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35'. Yes, there has been some discussion of PowerShell Core in the past here:
Bash, curl, SWQL, IPAM.IPnode and limits/offset
The problem is that the library currently communicates with SWIS on the Orion server via Windows Communication Foundation (WCF). That is a Microsoft-specific communication protocol. There has been some progress on getting partial support for WCF with the Core WCF project:

In particular, the problem with the WCF authentication stack that tdanner mentioned in the post above has now been addressed:

So it is probably time to take a second look at making this compatible with PowerShell Core.
Oh, and with regard to the question about PowerShell snapins, that is considered an obsolete approach, but we still support it. You can find a discussion about that here:
