Unable to install APE

I do not see a screenshot below unfortunately, you should be able to just paste them in your responses. However, be sure you are either grabbing the installer from your web interface by going to Settings > All Settings > Polling Engines > select Download. Or access the latest version of the offline installer through the customer portal. 

When installing, you should see the following:

You will need to be installing this on a separate server than the Primary.

Thanks for your response. On the solarwinds' document whose url i have pasted below it says  that up to three polling engines can be installed on a single server.

I did try both installers from the customer portal and our orion web console

However my installation wizard starts out like this.

Based on the screenshots you provided it appears as though you are trying to install an APE on the same machine as the main poller. While this is possible, no actual installation is necessary. If you have an Additional Polling Engine license in your Customer Portal, simply activate it from within the web-based License Manager. It will either automatically assign it to the correct server, or you can manually assign it to the server you wish to increase polling capacity on.

The license for the APE appears in the customer portal but not on the web based license manager.

I am unable to activate it as i can't get the correct Machine ID. For manual license activation i suppose the module has to already be installed for one to get the correct machine ID??

I didn't intend to stack the licenses but rather have two polling engines running concurrently on the primary server.

After activating the license i can only see one polling engine.

What you describe above is the literal definition of stacking APE licenses on the main poller. There is nothing to install as all the bits are present. There will not be any new pollers listed when stacking. The server name of the machine where the stacked licenses are applied will be consolidated into a single entry for the convenience of assignment and load balancing between stacked pollers.
