Volume reset condition to clear 5% below critical threshold

I have the majority of volumes alerting off the same alarm where if the volume status is critical it  raises an alarm. This captures volume issues from both volumes using the default orion disk usage threshold and volumes using custon thresholds. I want to reset the alarm when it falls say 5% below the critical threshold rather than just not being critical to prevent situations where the capacity is hovering around the threshold. Is this achievable?

  • You might as well see a few more cool ideas on this thread - but you can definitely use the warning threshold for your benefit here. Since you are only talking about critical threshold alerts (both default and custom thresholds), set the warning threshold 5% lesser than critical on the volumes.
Your reset/clear condition should fire when status of the volume threshold = to warning.

  • This is how I had it essentially. Unfortunately if the volume is going up and down around the critical threshold then the alarm clears and reappears over and over. In the end I set the reset condition to volume status = up so that operations need to clear a decent amount of space to clear the alarm\incident.

    Thanks everyone
