Message alert on my mobile

Hello everyone i wanna ask you, i want to create a message alert on my mobile when ever the physical server heats above 40 percent. i want to recieve a notification on my mobile?

Please guide the whats the procedure for this?

  • There are soooo many options for this, but it depends on what you mean by "alert on my mobile."  Email has always been the go-to for this, and it works, but there are other options.  You can send a message to a slack or Teams channel or via PagerDuty.  You can also send a ticket to ServiceNow or SolarWinds Service Desk and let the alerting engine there do your notifications.

Additionally, pretty much anything that can accept a web hook for communication can be used with the SolarWinds Orion alert action "Send a GET or POST Request to a Web Server" (I've heard tell of people using this to send to Discord or Telegram, but haven't done that myself.)

If you are looking to send a text message, then you'll need to integrate with a third-party SMS provider of your choice and setup whatever you like.

  • Hi ,

In addition to what said, if you're just looking for a simple text message (what I do for the most critical alerts that are very infrequent), you can use the 'Send an Email' action, and use your text messaging address as the 'To' field.  Here's a handy list of many Email-To-SMS addresses: https://avtech.com/articles/138/list-of-email-to-sms-addresses/

An example for someone in the USA who uses AT&T as their mobile/cell carrier might have an address of 5555555555@txt.att.net
