F5 Alerts

Hello All,

I have my F5 setup for monitoring, in the load balancing section I see all of the VIPs, Pools, Nodes as they should come up, trigger alarms are setup accordingly, but the emails I get do not come through correctly. The emails come to me in on of two ways:

RESET: An object you are monitoring is Up.

Object was down for 13 minutes.

server.local:443/.../View.aspx

OR

RESET: An object you are monitoring is ${N=SwisEntity;M=Status;F=Status}.

Object was down for 8 minutes.

${N=SwisEntity;M=DetailsUrl}

The first links to the object correctly but it would be more efficient to have the object name in the email.

The second is the larger problem, it does not give any details, just the code above. Has anyone seen this before or know how to fix these issues?

  • Can you share your trigger action(s)...

    As for the object being identified as ${N=SwisEntity;...} I've seen that a few times in our setup and the only solution I've found is to delete them and re-add via the search and select approach.
