What happens if you have two alerts that have matching conditions?

Will both be triggered and if only one will be triggered, how is that decided?

I made a copy of an alert to test and now I have one node triggering the out-of-box alert and a different node triggering the new copy alert that was made.

  • I've not seen that before. An alert will trigger if conditions are met.

You should add in the "All Alerts this Object can trigger" widget on the nodes and see what it shows up. There must be a difference between the 2 alerts for it to trigger differently.

Post up your alerts so we can have a look.

  • Thanks for the tip on the "All Alerts this Object can trigger" widget! I was able to see that not only would this node  trigger the alert, it actually did trigger it over 200 days ago and was never cleared. I am pretty sure this is the reason why it wasn't triggering again. I have cleared it now so I will see if it triggers again when I make a BGP change again.

Thanks all for the responses. They were very helpful!
