I am looking for any example/code snippet that I can use to learn how to automate ticket creations in Jira rather than doing that manually. Maybe an API method can work too.
So, the workflow should be:
(1) Integration between SWSD and Orion creates a ticket.
(2) Script looks for any new ticket
(3) Script gets the new ticket and contacts Jira
(4) Script create a new Jira issue with the information it got from SWSD
Any lead will be appreciated!
mulambo You may have the best luck using Zapier rather than coding something from scratch. It's a low-code automation platform that has limited integration with SWSD. It would work for your case because it can trigger off of newly created Incidents in SWSD. This should be much simpler/time effective than coding it yourself.

You would want to do a polling (every X minutes/hours/etc) search for a filtered list of incidents in SWSD. Then once you have them locally, you can manipulate them however you want, and make a POST to the Jira API to create the Jira ticket.
If you're going with the custom option, I would start with trying to pull tickets from SWSD using the API documentation above, then try to do a filtered pull of incidents. Once you have that worked out, submitting the Jira ticket will probably be the simplest part.
