Failed Backup Notifications/Alerts

It would be very useful to have the ability to alert admins/customers via email when a backup fails or errors. Maybe have some more detail of what it is thats erroring.

I keep being told "if the data is in the DB then it can be extracted" but nobody seems to be able to tell me how to do that extraction. There should be, as I think the Op intends, be a straightforward on/off switch for alerting / messaging on individual job AND/OR node failures.
