Welcome to the Server Configuration Monitor Forum!

Since we’ve always had the ability to monitor configurations for network devices, it’s time to let systems and applications join the party. Now you have the ability to view configuration change data next to performance data, without having to buy multiple products.

SolarWinds© Server Configuration Monitor (SCM) is an Orion© Platform product, designed to enable you to monitor your systems and application configurations on both physical and virtual servers, so you can pinpoint root cause of performance problems faster. Some of the specific benefits you can achieve with this integration include:

  • Detect, track, and alert when changes occur
  • Correlate system performance against configuration changes
  • Compare server and application configuration against custom baselines
  • Verify changes on application and systems

Please share your feedback, questions, and ideas here. We want to hear from you!

  • Looks really great, I wasn't able to attend the webinar, but managed to watch it back and had a few additional questions if possible?

    1) Does SCM data enter into the existing SolarWinds Orion Database, as other modules do, or will it be similar to NetFlow & Log Manager and require an independent database?

    2) Is there any additional information on license tiers?

    3) As this is Agent monitoring can I assume that there is a limit of servers per polling engine?

  • 1) Does SCM data enter into the existing SolarWinds Orion Database, as other modules do, or will it be similar to NetFlow & Log Manager and require an independent database?

This will not require an additional database it will use the Orion DB

    2) Is there any additional information on license tiers?

    SCM is priced in tiers by node: 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000

    3) As this is Agent monitoring can I assume that there is a limit of servers per polling engine?

SolarWinds SCM supports 1000 agent nodes and 150 changes/second per agent

  • Thanks neomatrix1217 in terms of the last question do you know if that is 1000 Agent Nodes per Polling Engine or per instance?
