Hello, I am fighting an uphill battle with our virtual machines and SCM. Every time they migrate to a new host, I get a scm alert. Is there any way to set exceptions or exclusions on what SCM alerts on?
Thank you,
David

Hi David,
it is a while since this was asked, but is this still a problem for you? It is unclear what kind of exclusion do you need? Can you show/describe the kind of difference that is detected and which you would like to suppress?
Thanks
This is still a problem with SCM. For alerts we cannot specify what part of the baseline changed.
Some updates are frequent and automatic system updates being captured by SCM and alerting due to the baseline being different.
We need an ability to filter out certain profiles from baseline alerts. In alert configuration it looks like this ability is there, but only for change events, and even then it is not working correctly.
database backups, recoveries etc are all logged as changes. I guess what we're looking for is an NCM style of exclusions so that these changes do not trigger configuration change alerts.
This should be migrated to the Server Configuration Manager forum. :)

Take a look at this article, shows you how to workaround some of the changes that are causing alerts.
