Network load Solarwinds SAM

Hello,

I have a question about the Solarwinds Server and application monitor: What is the network load when monitoring?

We have a few clients to whom we have a limited connection(a few kb/s), but we still want to be able to monitor their locations. Would that be possible?

greetings,

  • It all really depends on the number of nodes being monitored across those slow links, how many applications, and what the polling method being used is. What kind of link is this that you're running, a 56k? How many hosts on the other side of that link are you wanting to monitor?

The link we are running is an Sattelite link, so the speeds are insanely slow. We have a couple of server on this locations, 2 or 3, and a couple of switches and UPS's. And one application. So we can assume 10-20 devices. On the locations, we will be  deploying an SolarWinds instance with server, database and console. And we will be doing this on a few locations. We want to be able to at least manage the user accounts and settings of those locations, from our central datacentre, and if possible also be able to see the data from those locations.
