I have created a SAM template using SQL Server User Experience Monitor which returns 1 when there is a problem and -1 when there isn't. I added the template to a group but when I go into manage groups and look at the group I assigned the template to it says that it is empty. Why?
I created an alert using the group but it triggers every time even when it shouldn't. At the moment I can't work out whether this is because the group is empty or the alert is not connecting to the database or some other reason. Is there a way to test whether the template is working?
