My boss's question

We are upgrading to the new environment of SAM and NPM I believe, at least SAM I know that much for sure. My boss want to know if SAM 5.2 is capable of running on SQL Server 2012. He also want's to know if our production 5.2 and our test 6.1.1 is capable of communicating with the back-end database using an SSL connection. If anyone knows this or can point me in the right direction I would be much appreciative.

I had to open a ticket with SolarWinds, the boss still wanted to know more. He said that SAM 5.2 is compatiable with SQL 2012 and enababling the SSL connection is possible and should be no issue as long as the port and SQL permission is set properly. This all comes from an enterprise standard that my company uses, lots of odd questions and little documentation of their answers. I still appreciate your insight.
