High availability and file share link

Two nodes were configured based on the document provided by ServU. Each node normally accesses the shared resource and works fine. However, when sending and receiving files using a file share link, the data file used for the link is not shared across two nodes. This data file is created in \ProgramData\RhinoSoft\Serv-U\Shares\Serv-U.FileShares, which is causing a problem because it is not shared with other nodes. When I log in to both nodes, I can only access the share link on one node.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

Answer myself:

File sharing in HA environment is not supported. Therefore, keep in mind that HA is not supported in an environment where file share links are sent to customers or users.

Create ISCSI target storage so both nodes can access the cluster shared storage. That is the quickest solution I can come up with.

The HA issue I mentioned is related to file sharing. File transfer services such as ftp/sftp are HA supported. However, in a situation where a file is shared through a share link, link-related information is stored separately in the local DB and cannot be shared across HA nodes.

If that is the case failover clustering might be a better option than proper HA with same VM share across two nodes
