Install Serv-U FTP latest version

We have a copy of ServU FTP from 10 years ago.  Now, we would like to upgrade it to the current version.

I think I finally get the computer to install the latest version.  During install, a few files could not be removed.  I just pressed "Ignore" to go through the process.

Then, I removed those files manually and installed again.  This went smoothly until at the end, I could not get the Management Console to show up.....

Further, I don't know how to enter my license key.....

Any guidance of the above will be helpful.

Thanks!

  • Well, I called the SolarWind Tech Support number.  Tried to have them call back.  I missed the first call.  I picked up the second call, but the other side did not hear me.  Then, I held on to a call until someone answered the phone.  He did help me solve the upgrade problem.  We were able to move my domains and users from my old V10.1 ServU FTP to the current 15.2.3 version.  And then apply the Hot Fix 1 and 2.  I needed to use the current version of "Edge" to view the "Management Console.  Chrome/Internet Explorer did not work.  On installation the V15.2.2 ServU FTP, basically, we need to do a fresh install as upgrade will try to use old pathways on certain files, which are no longer valid.  After installing the latest version, some config files from my old version need to be moved to the "proper" location under the new version.  It took us 1.5 hours of screen sharing and discussion to solve the problem.

On the above error, I think Edge probably could solve that problem.
