Granular Node Management Rights.

There needs to be a simple way to assign users specific node management rights. For example, i have a group of users that i only want to be able to unmanage nodes, nothing more. There may be sophisticated ways of achieving this but it would be nice to have it built into the "Manage Accounts" section.

Thanks for considering this.

  • BUMP please.

Seriously, 6 years and 6 pages of comments? What else is needed from the community to get some traction on this? Do product manager(s) need more feedback, or more specific feedback (i.e. very specific examples of ways this could be implemented)? I haven't read through all 6 pages of comments, so not sure if enough feedback has already been given. We really could use this in our large environment for a variety of reasons/purposes.

One very simple enhancement would be to allow a Read Only view of Manage Nodes. I know that might sound strange, but Manage Nodes is such a powerful way to search out stuff, that I feel our users who don't have Manage Nodes are really missing out, having to rely on the other two Search options. Not to mention the added ability to Export Custom Property Values (an oddly named ad-hoc report generator) from Manage Nodes to easily export to .csv or .xls.

  • This very issue is causing me pain today.

We allow our NOC users to unmanage devices.  Because they don't have access to the "Manage Nodes" page, the only way for them to unmanage a group of devices is one at a time on each node's page.

It's insane that Manage Nodes isn't widely available with only the buttons that users have access to enabled.
