Status icon shows as up.gif instead of green icon

ned692000, what is your use case? is this a Custom Query Widget or report? Additionally, can you post a copy of the query you are using? This will make it easier for someone to assist and share any modifications.

Thanks for the reply. I'm very new to SWQL, and am trying to create a custom query for a widget on a dashboard. The purpose of this is to display interfaces that are "UP" within a group. I'd like to see the green/yellow/red status LED next to the interface name. I've tried using the following (just as a practice to see if I can display the icon): '/Orion/images/StatusIcons/Small-' + StatusIcon AS [_IconFor_Node Name]

All I'm getting as a result is "up.gif" instead of the green icon.

Any help would be appreciated.

ned692000, so if you're talking about the return in SWQL studio that is an expected behavior. Once you place the query in a custom query widget in the web console it will automatically add that icon for the Node Name column. 

In the below example you can see it for NPM Polling % and a number of other columns.

Do you have the SWQL query for the above for me to try? I've tried a with statements like:

Name,StatusLED AS Status(or whichever is in the library)

From

Orion.Nodes

I've pasted this into the web console and it still returns a value of up.gif in that particular column. Am I missing something?

When I use Select Name, for example it just shows the name, there is no icon displayed.

ned692000, so the query used to display the above is quite complex so it'll likely be difficult to breakdown for someone fairly new to SWQL. Using your above query there are some syntax issues. 

1. the StatusLED should be the web directory for the gif, so taking your previous example it would look like this. '/Orion/images/StatusIcons/Small-' + StatusLED AS [_IconFor_Name]
2. you need to make sure you alias the column you want to use as the icon appropriately again see above.
3. your completed query should look like this

Select
Name
,'/Orion/images/StatusIcons/Small-' + StatusLED AS [_IconFor_Name]

Ah ha! Thank you I finally got it to work. I'm now exploring getting the status of a group to display. My overall goal is to display a widget that shows Green when certain interfaces are within a VLAN.

Basically, we have a script that moves two interfaces into a different VLAN, when this happens I'd like a visual widget to indicate this. I can't seem to get the values of the VLANS from the interfaces so i considered creating a dynamic group that will pull these interfaces in once they have changed vlans and then having the group show as up within the widget.

I'm not sure if this is possible, I'm just experimenting at the moment. Thanks again for your help.
