install agent vs. WMI

I've always used WMI when adding nodes. https://omegle.site/ The service account I created in AD on the domain was placed in the built-in Administrators group. Now, for auditing purposes, I'm instructed to remove that service account from the admin group https://omegle.website/ and install the agent so that it can use the local account for monitoring.

What are the pros and cons of using the agents? I understand it requires an open port to the internet?

  • I'm currently looking at the same thing. I have not put my service account into local administrators for the domain controllers. As i work with Cyber closely we have agreed we would like a local locked down account that talks back to SolarWinds from DC's. I'm looking for it again but i'm sure i read an article that said you can use a local account on DC's and just drop it into the Performance counters local group.
