Hi all,
I am looking for an opportunity to configure an alert with the POST REQUEST ACTION.
The action should be triggered if a topolgy change in the network happened.

sending a POST as an alert action is an available feature. Here's is a KB article that you can use to get started. Was there something more specific you were looking for?
Thanks for your answer. I am looking for an opportunity to get an alert when a network topology (due to spanning tree) changes.
Is your question how to create a properly formatted POST action to an outside service or how to configure an alert for a spanning-tree change?
Thank you for your reply. How to configure an alert for a spanning-tree change, this is what I want.
How are you detecting the spanning-tree change? Is it via a syslog/trap or is it via a Universal Device Poller (UnDP)?
Now, the spanning-tree change is detected via Traps.
Assuming you are using the new Log Viewer for Traps, then the alert would be for any matches for the STP message.
(Note: I don't have any such devices in my lab, so the screenshots below are guesses)
For me, I'd prefer to use the standard alerting engine, so I just check this in the Rule screen.
After saving it, I can find the alert in the Manage Alerts screen and add my own actions (like making a POST call)
Thank your for your prompt reply. I will try it and let you know ;). Thank you for your help.
