Node custom property "serial number"

You can put a serial number in the node view. You'll find that different devices place their serials in different places, that can show up in really different places in the DB. You can make one view with a big report to figure out what's the best serial number value to use and call that. Or you could make a view per different device type with a report that pulls the correct serial number value for that device.
Or you could grab the lot of em and put it in the custom property.

I have the information as a custom property but when I add view custom properties into the node details panels it is empty. 

If I go to manage node, the information is there. 

Now that is surprising to me. Pop some screenshots in or something, that should work just fine

Try these two things:

1) Add any other custom property and see if the "Custom properties for nodes" populates. If it doesnt talk to support.

2) Add a new custom table widget to the page, select the serial number custom property, Save. If that doesnt show up talk to support

Both should work, if only one works something really weird in your env. I dont have the Serial number custom property in my environment to test, but tested with a different one.

I have tested all your suggestions before posting here.

I will ask to the support but I am afraid about the usual answer to look at the documentation.

Yeah It can be hard to get stuff like this through support. Prep a couple diagnostics files and whatnot.

For sure it should work though, either I'm misunderstanding your scenario in a very fundamental way or something's broke in your environment.

Normal delete-recreate -type troubleshooting is probably what gets you there

We use the above widget, but have also created a second widget to pull in specific CPs that we don't display in the default one.

I have already populated the information. What is even weirder, I have got the panel to add the serial number and there, it is already autocomplete.

OK - 2022.4.x is very, very buggy and is causing all sorts of odd issues so it is entirely feasible that this is one such.

I know you aren't going to like this based on prior comments, but you could try asking support if it is a known bug and when will it be fixed.

I have the same issue after upgrading to 2022.4.x as well.  Still they haven't figured out the issue or informed of any bug.  We also had some weird behavior with our ASA firewalls not being able to see NODE details because of a "licensing" issue.  Seemed some setting got changed.  

They called me yesterday. it is a known bug. We have to upgrade to 2023.1

I had an hour session with a technician and they ran a bunch of SWQL commands.  They seem to think its related to a custom properties entry.  We can't upgrade at the moment.  But given the issues we've had withthis model.  I think we will be glad to the next version.
