NCM Backup not working

Hi All, Kindly help me!!

I am using NCM 2020.2.5, All devices are NCM configures long time back, i don't know the password. Suddenly for more than 700 devices Backup is not working, Its NCM test failed like connection refused/ bad password.

we are using the same service account for like Global account for all the devices, how come for few devices same credential is not working and for other its working. for both SSH/Telnet device same issue.

Now what to do. need assistance.

Can you log onto these devices with another account? If so, configure NCM to pull the config using that account. That way you can confirm NCM can still copy config just fine. Then you'll need to check the devices config to see why this global account is not working. If using TACACS, check TACACS server to make sure device is configured correctly in there too.

Consider using NCM session trace - just know that you can create a lot of files with it. The session traces will have lots of extra details to look at. Enable session tracing when troubleshooting a connection issue (solarwinds.com) , Generate session trace logs for NCM and NPM modules (solarwinds.com) and NCM How to Read a Session Trace (solarwinds.com). THere are NCM logs that can be looked at too. @Goldtipu has a decent NCM page here: NCM troubleshooting landing page - Forum - Network Configuration Manager (NCM) - THWACK (solarwinds.com)

Sorry for all the links, I start with a small job on some affected and maybe a few unaffected devices, enable session tracing and see what comes up. Disable session tracing when you are done using it. Then the other links and logs may be helpful. But I agree with superfly above too.
