Does NCM use the polling engine or it's own engine?

We're working on a new setup that would separate our polling engines and restrict access from Orion core to certain devices in certain networks -- for example "MY-SECURE-NETWORK".

  • Orion Core would be restricted to only talk to the polling engine in MY-SECURE-NETWORK.
  • The polling engine would have access as needed to devices in MY-SECURE-NETWORK.

Will this break NCM? Or does NCM manage configs through the polling engine?
