SQL Managed Instance - No deadlocks detected in this time interval.

Hi All,

I'm currently monitoring a number of SQL Server Managed Instances with DPA version 2022.3.7963, and the deadlock tab always displays No deadlocks detected in this time interval, even when I know there have been deadlock events during the selected time period. I've verified this by logging onto the server and manually checking the dpa_deadlock_capture xevent.

Other, non SQL Server Managed Instances are showing deadlocks within DPA, so the issue seems to be isolated to only Managed Instance environments.

I'm going to look at deploying the latest DPA version to see if that fixes the issue, but in the meantime, has anyone seen this before or have any suggestions in case it's not a version related issue?

Thank you Slight smile

  • We have had a number of cases on this issue now in support and in most all there is a time out of the query to the dpa_deadlock_capture data when trying to poll it to the DPA web console.

So just as you say the data is collected and not displayed. Internal tracking of the issue is in DPA-8713. the error for the query time out is clear in DPA's idc.log file.
