Error Message: Invalid user and/or password [error=java.sql.SQLException: Login failed for user

This may be a dumb question but ...

I am trying to register an instance for dpa but when I enter the sysadmin creds, the same ones I normally use for other SolarWinds activities, and I get the following message below

"Error Message: Invalid user and/or password [error=java.sql.SQLException: Login failed for user"

kind of stumped as to why this is happening ... if anyone could provide some feedback that would be much appreciated.

Hi

Some ideas.

Do you have a tool like SQL Server Management Studio or sqlcmd installed on the DPA server? If so then you can try to make a connection with the same server, user and password as used in the register wizard to verify the connection.

Another idea is to check the SQL Server Logs.

I assume you use the domain name before the username, right?
