DPA Licensing Question

We currently have 61 Category 2 licenses and at some point we were able to use these licenses in Azure to monitor SQL instances there.  Is that still the case or was something changed that we have to purchase separate licensing to monitor SQL in Azure now?  Thanks! - Dave

  • In general, a Category 2 license can monitor a SQL Server instance just about anywhere.  For Azure, that includes both SQL server installed on a virtual machine, an Azure SQL managed instance or Azure SQL DB.   Nothing has changed recently.  We do have a separate license for Azure SQL DB that is cheaper, if you are going that route.
