SolarWinds® Database Performance Analyzer (DPA) 2023.2.1 Service Release is now generally available!

Key Fixes Resolved in SolarWinds® Database Performance Analyzer (DPA) 2023.2.1.504 Service Release:

The DPA 2023.2.1 Service Release includes the following fixes to DPA 2023.2:

  • Resolves a problem where index and table tuning advisors were not identifying all performance tuning options.
  • Establishes connections to Azure SQL Managed Instances (ASMIs) and Azure SQL Databases configured for Azure Active Directory (Azure AAD) authentication.

New SAML SSO support for Azure Active Directory as an identity provider option

You can now configure DPA to authenticate user logins using SAML SSO authentication with Azure AD as the identity provider (IdP) in addition to Okta and Keycloak IdPs. See Configure DPA to use SAML authentication with Azure AD.

Microsoft JDBC driver version 12.2

DPA has upgraded its MS JDBC driver to version 12.2 to improve connections and access security to Microsoft SQL Server 2022 instances.

Improved IBM Db2 data collection efficiency

DPA has replaced the use of several deprecated Db2 functions with their newer SYSPROC.MON_* replacements.

Important Upgrade Note: Before upgrading to DPA 2023.2, DPA customers monitoring IBM Db2 versions 10.1 and later, MUST grant the DPA collection user, execute permissions on several additional SYSPROC.MON_* functions. Refer to the combined DPA 2023.2 Release and 2023.2.1 Service Release Notes for more details.

Security Enhancements

DPA 2023.2 includes security enhancements, including:

  • HTTPS connections are now required.

    To improve security, DPA 2023.2 began accepting only HTTPS connections. Any attempts to connect using the HTTP connector port are automatically redirected to the HTTPS connector port.

    If you are upgrading from a previous version where HTTP was enabled, please complete the tasks under Before you upgrade to ensure that all users can access DPA and that DPA Central can connect to all DPA servers using HTTPS.

  • Upgraded DPA Server to use Tomcat 8.5.85
