Default startup Domain

Typically, the rich client will show the last domain you were working with when you closed it. Unfortunately, there is no way to set a default domain within the rich client. Yes, it is possible to set another domain as the default or primary domain to start automatically on client computers joined to multiple Active Directory domains.

Here are the steps to do this:

1. Open the Group Policy Management Console (GPMC) on the domain controller.

2. Create a new Group Policy Object (GPO) or edit an existing one that applies to the client computers in question.

3. Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Logon.

4. Double-click on "Assign a default domain for logon" policy setting.

5. Select the "Enabled" option.

6. In the "Default domain name" field, enter the NetBIOS name of the domain that you want to set as the default.

7. Click on "Apply" and then "OK" to save the changes.

8. Link the GPO to the appropriate Organizational Unit (OU) in Active Directory.

Once the policy is applied to the client computers, they will automatically log on to the specified domain after a restart or logoff.
