Alerts during maintenance windows

Today, the Unmanaged status in Orion helps prevent alert overload during network maintenance. While this prevents the influx of ‘node down’ alerts during that time, you lose the benefit of being able to view performance statistics.

As a solution, we are proposing a new functionality that would allow you to “mute” a node during maintenance. When the node is “muted”, what would you expect to happen with your existing alerts?

Poll Results
  • When you “mute” your node, all existing alerts will reset (37%)
  • When you “mute” your node, the existing alerts will be stored and you’ll receive a diff of pre-maintenance alerts (51%)
  • Neither (explain in the comments below) (12%)
