How much redundancy is enough for your environment?

Failover Engine requires a 1:1 relationship for each Orion instance or additional poller it protects. For example, in an environment with a primary Orion server and three additional pollers that required high availability, this would require a total of 8 servers.

Poll Results
  • We require the highest levels of availability possible. This requires strict 1:1 redundancy for each Orion server (35%)
    68/194
  • We selectively choose which objects are monitored by which poller and have FoE protecting only the poller that is monitoring our critical infrastructure components (31%)
    61/194
  • 1:1 redundancy is not necessary for our environment and wish there was an n+1 option for FoE (34%)
    65/194
