    Cisco VCS (TandBerg) Monitoring

    deiberts

On our end with the DoD, we use quite a few Cisco VCS servers as our video conference concentrator.  I was wondering if at any point that VNQM will use or have the capability to monitor these systems?  Currently we do have SNMPv3 enabled on the devices and see the typical NPM information but it doesn't pull anything else. I noticed there are a few feature requests in regards to this...

Any insightful information is much appreciated.

I don't know about any future possibilities, but have you looked at using the Universal Device Poller tool in NPM to configure custom node pollers with useful OIDs? The SysObJect ID of 1.3.6.1.4.1.5596 would appear to have OIDs related to videoconferencing, multiconferencing, and gateway information that might be useful.

SNMPwalk'ed the device and returned nothing from that both the Tandberg MIB or the Cisco Telepresence MIB. Saw a lot from the MGMT-MIB and the NET-SNMP MIB (which I imagine is locked down through the SNMP daemon).  I tried to use 1.3.6.1.4.1.5596.10.x where the teleconference tables reside and states that numerous OIDs are not supported.  We can get NTA information all day but would be nice to see what goes wrong with a video conference call through Solarwinds.
