If you could pick just one thing in the RC that you love, what would it be and why?

      I'd love to hear it!

The one thing that I love in the latest RC (2) is:

PerfStack Improvements that allow me to analyze UnDP's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! omg omg omg omg

I can finally analyze stuff like VPN connections on real firewalls. Thank you so much for this!

The one thing that I hate in the latest RC (2) is:

The new rubik's based views that are taking over the most relied upon and critical of views in Orion

What was, or is the idea here, I don't get it.

Manage Entities??? What is wrong with the Manage Nodes page?

In Manage Entities everything is convoluted and fragmented at the same time.

I can't have an overview of my Nodes based on a specific grouping by default.

I can't list more than 10 objects in the filter pane by default.

I can't display more than 50 objects in the preview pane by default.

Everything you need requires you to click Show more.

You can't select your own columns.

Can I at least have my IP addresses in a separate column, without having to modify the page first and jump through hoops, so that I can quickly sift through them? No.

Oh and It is so so super slow it's unbelievable. Gah!

The Manage Nodes page is still in there though, YESSS!!

And Customize Page, Add "Widgets" ????

The whole Customize framework is so ultra fragmented and slow now, I can't imagine how daunting it would be to wrap your head around the concept as a first time user. I would give up instantly.

I'm so happy we still have the Page Settings option, YESSS!!

What do you mean by "rubik's based views".  A URL or screenshot available?

Lots of feedback about the UI changes.  Paging serena to review!

Hi Deltona Thank you for your honest feedback!

Are you on the latest GA and still seeing performance issues?

The reason I ask is because we did find a bug that was impacting the performance of some of customers new Manage Entities page, and that was addressed in the RC2 that was made available on 8/24

"Manage Entities??? What is wrong with the Manage Nodes page?"

Nothing is wrong with the manage nodes page, it's clearly proven to be successful with our customers, who have used it every day for a long time. However, like all good things, they do have an expiration date. We absolutely need to update the technology used for the page, as noticed by our savvy customers in such feature requests like: rebuild Orion engine from scratch with HTML5 core functionality And while we're at it, we can modernize and update the workflow for our new customers needs.

"In Manage Entities everything is convoluted and fragmented at the same time."

I'd love to get on a call with you while you talk through some of your frustrations. We've done lots of user testing where users have found success, so I'd love to get your viewpoint on this. "convoluted and fragmented" is definitely not where we want to be.

"I can't have an overview of my Nodes based on a specific grouping by default."

My expectation is that you can use the filter properties to achieve exactly the same behavior as the groupings, and that they should follow correct defaults. I'd love to see your environment to see if this is meeting my expectations.

"I can't list more than 10 objects in the filter pane by default.

I can't display more than 50 objects in the preview pane by default."

We don't have any limitations on the preview pane, so is this just a visual limitation or are you being prevented from seeing more objects?

Everything you need requires you to click Show more.

"You can't select your own columns."

Have you tried using "edit row properties" ?

"And Customize Page, Add "Widgets" ????

Again, I'd love to see your environment to see what performance you're having. And I'd love to know if you're on the latest GA version. Thanks for your input, let me know if we can set up a call

                    Hi Serena,

                    Sorry for not replying sooner.

At the time of writing the response, I was running RC2.

Today I am running GA with Core 2017.3 HF1.

I haven't seen any performance gains since the update to GA or after the HF1 update. Your reasoning for changing the manage nodes page; quote "However, like all good things, they do have an expiration date." is troubling. Expiry dates are only relevant if the object is no longer good. An example of this would be food or general shelf items. The Manage Nodes page is the single most important page in Orion that has worked extremely well regardless of what issues existed. The argument is therefore not solid, sorry! If you must do something then update the visual elements to mimic the flat design that is being used everywhere else. Just don't mess with the layout and navigation because it doesn't get more simplistic and intuitive than it already is.

The feature request that you refer to has absolutely nothing to do with the Manage Nodes page. Nowhere does it mention the need or requirement for changing the Manage Nodes page. The FR refers to Summary View navigation and behavior, Network Atlas maps. If you have another feature request that you can refer to then please share the link.

I still stand by my claim that the Manage Entities page is convoluted, fragmented, lacks overview, has limitations, and will gladly jump on a session to discuss and showcase this in detail. Please reach out to me offline to agree on a date and time.

The Edit Row Properties function does more harm to the page than good. I am expecting a true, separate, column based layout with values separated automatically with equal length and auto spacing. I need a top to bottom listing that isn't misaligned or jumbled. There needs to be a true column based presentation of information.

                  You are so funny!!!

I am not going anywhere near a release candidate any more.  Not since you guys have cost me over a month's of down time with the 12.0 and the 12.1 "GA" upgrades that were supposed to be fully vetted.  What?  You say?  Well, just look at pas ticket history for SW37150.

I like one of the "new" things is to leverage WPM and SAM in PerfMon, but we cannot get WPM to stay connected to AWS nor to have the Player correctly render pages that are fully rendering in Pingdom with no issues.  (And, oddly, never have render issues in the Recorder.)

                  Kind regards,

                  Edward
